UV giant Mahindra had given its smallest SUV, KUV100 a mild facelift last year in October. The carmaker is planning to give a proper mid-life facelift to its micro SUV which will be released sometime this year. The 2018 Mahindra KUV100 facelift was spotted testing lately sporting styling changes to the outside. It is primarily expected to receive cosmetic updates, while mechanically, the SUV will remain unchanged. As for the Mahindra KUV100 facelift’s price in Nepal, it is likely to change upwards.

There isn’t much revealed on the revamps likely to be seen on the inside. Though, we do expect subtle styling changes and addition of a couple of new features to enrich the cabin experience for the occupants. That said, features could be added in tandem with KUV100’s arch rival Maruti Ignis and Vitara Brezza.

Since there will be no changes to the engine set-up the Mahindra KUV100 facelift is expected to offer same mileage as its current version. That said, the updated KUV100 mileage for the petrol version will be18.23 km/l in petrol and 25.32 km/l for the diesel. The new Mahindra KUV100 facelift is expected to continue using the same set of engines as the existing model, hence there will be no change in terms of performance and handling.

The new Mahindra KUV100 facelift will continue to face-off with other subcompact models such as Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the likes in the segment. While the SUV is unlikely to undergo dimensional changes, it is set to receive prominent styling tweaks for a cleaner design. Going by the Mahindra KUV100 images of the test mule changes will be made to the front including revised air intakes and fog lamp enclosure. The grille too seemed to don larger chrome braces and redesigned headlamps. It is also expected to get new 15-inch alloys, reworked rear bumper and toned down creases.

There will be no changes on the mechanical front. The Mahindra KUV100 specifications will remain unchanged with the same 1.2-litre mFalcom G80 petrol with 82bhp and 114Nm as well as 1.2-litre mFalcon D75 oil burner putting out 77bhp against 190Nm powering the line-up. These engines will be paired with a standard 5-speed manual unit along with an optional AMT gearbox. The 2WD drivetrain, on the other hand, is likely to be carried over from the current version.

The braking set-up will remain unchanged, albeit there could be some additions to the current list of safety features which includes airbags, anti-lock braking system, engine immobilizer, central locking, seat belts and a host of other bits.
