The new-generation Maruti Suzuki Celerio will be launched in Nepal, Maruti Suzuki Nepal has confirmed. The Celerio was first introduced back in 2014 and has received several upgrades throughout the year. The upcoming Maruti Celerio is claimed to be one of Nepal's most fuel-efficient petrol cars. The bookings for the Maruti Suzuki Celerio in Nepal have already open and one can book it online on the company’s official website or at their nearest showroom. It was expected to launch in the first quarter of 2021 in the Nepalese market but was delayed due to the second wave of the pandemic.
The new Maruti Suzuki Celerio will be powered by a new 1.0-liter, three-cylinder Dual Jet, Dual VVT, K10C petrol engine that is tuned to generate 66 bhp and 89 Nm of peak torque. The motor comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox along with an optional AMT or AGS (Auto Gear Shift) unit. Celerio is available in a total of 7 variants. According to Maruti Suzuki, the new Celerio has the highest fuel efficiency figure of 26.68kpl in its class (VXi AMT variant). The ZXi and ZXi+ AMT deliver 26kpl, LXi gives 25.24kpl, and the VXi, ZXi, and ZXI+ MT give 24.97kpl. These figures have been verified by ARAI.
In terms of design and styling, the new-gen Maruti Suzuki Celerio comes with a 3D organic sculpted design. The car also comes with new swept-back headlamps, an aggressive front bumper with black cladding, new fog lamps, integrated turn signal lights, droplet-styled taillights, flared wheel arches, and new 15-inch Urbane black alloy wheels. The car also gets a manual air-con system, USB and AUX-IN, a 7-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system with smartphone navigation, engine push start button with smart key, keyless entry, Pollen type AC filter, 60:40 split rear seats, and height-adjustable driver's seat.
The new Celerio will be available in six colors – Solid Fire Red, Speedy Blue, Arctic White, Silky Silver, Glistening Grey, and Caffeine Brown. Maruti Suzuki will launch the new-generation Celerio in Nepal by January 2022. The new Celerio is priced starting from NRs 27.99 lakhs in the Nepalese market. The new Maruti Suzuki Celerio rivals the likes of the Hyundai Santro, Tata Tiago, and Datsun Go in Nepal. However, as far as looks are concerned, the CelerioX looks identical to its predecessor at every corner.
