TVS Motor has just released an official teaser video of its upcoming two-wheeler under its Race Performance sub-brand hinting at the launch of the Apache RTR 165 RP. The bikemaker released an official teaser by saying that TVS RP Race Performance is Coming Soon. TVS has already trademarked the Apache RTR 165 RP and it seems the motorcycle will be now launched in Nepal very soon. From the teaser video, it is clear that the new Apache 165 RP will come out to be a sportier offering with more modern features.

It is expected that the TVS Apache RTR 165 RP will be based on the brand's RTR 160 4V. The Apache RTR 160 4V gets a 159.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine that develops 17.3 hp of power and 14.73 Nm of peak torque. We can expect the same engine options on RTR 165 RP but the RTR 165 RP could have a slightly bigger capacity engine. The gearbox in the upcoming motorcycle will be the same five-speed unit. The company has also tweaked the brand name from RTR to RP which could also bring along some other solid performance changes.

TVS new Apache RTR 165 RP could be benefited from dual-channel ABS with a suspension setup that is set to include a telescopic fork and a Showa-tuned preload-adjustable mono-shock unit at the rear. The bike is set to come with disc brakes at both ends including all-LD illumination, a fully digital instrument console, LED DRLs, Glide Through Traffic (GTT) technology, a one-touch start, and a wave bite ignition key, and a digital instrument cluster.  Riding modes are also possible on the new RP after all TVS offers them on its 125cc scooter, the Ntorq Race XP.

The new TVS Apache RTR 165 RP is expected to be launched in Nepal by 2022 and it might charge a slight premium over the Apache RTR 160 4V’s prices that currently is priced at NRs. 2.69 lakhs. Once launched in Nepal, the RTR 165 RP could be around NRs 50,000-80,000 more than the RTR 160 4V. The upcoming Apache RTR 165 RP in Nepal will compete against the likes of Yamaha FZ-S Fi, Hero Xtreme 160R, Honda X-Blade, and Bajaj Pulsar NS160.
